Her right arm, pointing right, signals the righteous “Because I am married to that man THERE.” Grace’s would-be paramour counters with three-way pointing gestures—at the door, at Grace, and at the floor—miming approximately this: “Well, if YOU say so, I am LEAVING, but mind you, I will never come HERE again.” After he leaves, she faintly repeats the poet’s fateful gesture of “never come HERE” before collapsing in a chair.
