F. Z. Maguire & Co., “We have recently made new negatives of the famous dancer, Annabelle, in her ‘Sun’ and ‘Serpentine’ dances,” catalog cited in Musser, Edison Motion Pictures, 1890–1900: An Annotated Filmography (Smithsonian Institution Press, 1997). Musser itemizes eleven Annabelle films and their varying titles. As with AMB, assigned titles scrambled the content. The 1894 recording Annabelle [no. 2], for example, was called both Butterfly Dance, no. 1 and Serpentine Dance.
